→ Wolfbound Books Submissions
Wolfbound Books is a space for zine-makers, book artists, self-publishers to showcase their work and connect with audiences who are looking for art and literature that reflect the stories and the change they want to see in the world. As an independent and community-centred platform for under-represented voices and diverse perspectives, we create equity through submissions.
Wolfbound Books is primarily a bookshop and zine distributor. We sell books, zines, and printed works by independent micro/small press and self-publishers from across Australia and around the world. We stock Illographo Press titles as well as publications that come to us through submissions.
If you are an independent publisher, micro/small press or a creative who has self/published a book or a zine and would like to stock your publication/s with us, please:

Our Submission Policy
Wolfbound Books is open for submissions from 1 July 2025 until 14 December 2025. We close our submissions for the first half of the year (January - June) to give us time to process and distribute our current stock, and pay our consignors before accepting new titles. We are a small team of volunteers and ‘zine-terns’ – time is our most valuable resource.
Publications are held on consignment or payment upon sale basis. We can hold up to 3 copies of each title and we will contact you if we need to re-stock. We take a 30% commission and you keep 70% of the sale price. We issue sales reports at the end of the financial year in July and require an invoice to process payment via direct bank transfer/PayID or store credit. Please note, we DO NOT use PayPal or WISE.
Consignment terms:
- From 1 July 2025, we are implementing a price cap on publications we accept and stock through our open submission. We can only distribute submitted zines with a retail price of $1-$20 and submitted books with a retail price of $5-$40. This is to ensure that our publications are accessible to community-members from ALL socio-economic backgrounds. (Note: This price cap does not apply to limited edition art books we acquire from our partners; pre-loved, vintage and rare books we’ve collected through our travels. We trade these at market value).
- Publications submitted to Wolfbound Books must be your original work; must be self-published or published by an independent publisher or small press.
- We are a distributor and our purpose is to promote, celebrate and sell publications on your behalf. Please do not send us publications that you do not wish to be sold, shared, and/or photographed. If you would like to donate your publication/s, please do not use our consignment form and contact us directly.
- We welcome magazine and journal submissions but please note that they don’t move as quickly as limited and open edition publications. Monthly and quarterly magazines become out-of-date (a new issue is released) before we can sell previous issues and we often have to return them or add them to our Library.
- Wolfbound Books reserves the right to refuse any publication that falls outside of our focus area and/or breaches our content guidelines. We will not accept publications with discriminatory and/or harmful content such as hate speech, racism, sexism, pornography, child abuse, animal cruelty, self-harm and/or violence towards any person or group.
- Please ensure you provide the correct contact and payment details.
- You can submit up to 3 copies per title. We will contact you if we need to re-stock your publication/s.
- We stock publications on consignment or a payment upon sale basis unless otherwise agreed.
- You (the self-publisher/artist/author) set the retail price and keep 70% of the sale price.
- We will hold your stock for 6-12 months. Any unsold stock will be returned to you by mail, collection OR you may choose to donate it to our library.
Payment terms:
- Sales reports are issued and sent by email at the end of the financial year 30 June.
- For tax purposes, we will ask you to invoice us to process the payment.
- Payments are made via direct bank transfer/PayID or store credit. We do not use PayPal or WISE.
- If you do not invoice us within 12 months of receiving your sales report, your earnings will be allocated as a donation.
If you have any questions about our Submission Policy, please contact us.
